Number of Trustees, Their Term and Power to Co-opt

The Helping Hands Together Trust will be managed by a Board of Trustees, with the following structure and rules:

 

Number of Trustees

The trust will have a minimum of 2 trustees and a maximum of 9 trustees.
The individuals listed as the first trustees shall automatically form the Board of Trustees.

Appointment & Removal of Trustees

If a trustee resigns or passes away, the remaining trustees have the power to appoint (co-opt) a new trustee.
A trustee may resign by giving two months' written notice to the Board.

Term of Trustees

The first Managing Trustee shall be the Settlor, who will hold office for life.
The first trustees will also hold their positions for their respective lifetimes unless they resign or are removed.

Management & Quorum

If any trustee position is vacant, the remaining trustees will continue managing the trust.

Properties of the Trust

The properties of the Helping Hands Together Trust shall consist of:

Corpus Fund

The initial amount contributed by the Settlor as per the Trust Deed forms the foundation of the Trust. This fund continues to grow with voluntary contributions and donations over time.

Objectives of the Trust

To provide aid and opportunities to the underprivileged through education, health support, women empowerment, and social awareness initiatives as per the trust's core mission.

Grants and Donations

The trust shall accept grants, endowments, and donations from individuals or organizations, which are fully utilized in alignment with the trust’s goals and activities.

Assets and Resources

All tangible and intangible assets — including educational materials, equipment, and community centers — shall be managed solely for charitable purposes under the trust's supervision.

Trust Administration and Power to the Board

The administration and management of the Helping Hands Together Trust will be handled by the Board of Trustees, who will have the following powers and responsibilities:

General Powers of the Board of Trustees

The Board shall manage and administer the trust, its properties, and its affairs to fulfill the objectives of the trust. The income and properties of the trust shall be used only for its objectives and cannot be distributed as salary, allowances, or profits to the trustees or their relatives.

Financial & Banking Powers

The Board has the authority to open and operate bank accounts. The trust funds will be invested in a manner that complies with the Income Tax Act, 1961. The trust may buy, sell, mortgage, lease, or transfer any properties, but selling immovable properties will require prior approval from the Commissioner of Income Tax.

Decision-Making & Compliance

No trustee shall engage in fraud or misuse trust property. Trustees shall work without salary, except for reimbursement of actual expenses. The Board must comply with donors'

CHILD WELFARE & PROTECTION POLICIES

Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children associated with the trust is a top priority. The Board will implement child protection guidelines, create safe spaces, and conduct regular evaluations to prevent abuse or neglect.

EDUCATION & SKILL DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES

The trust will promote educational welfare and skill-based training for underprivileged groups. The Board may collaborate with institutions and professionals to design sustainable learning modules that empower individuals for long-term success.
